Location Description

Affleck Castle

Dating from the 1400's, this is the ancestral home of the Afflecks, the hereditary arms bearers to the Earls of Crawford.

Auchinleck House

This Scottish mansion was designed by Robert Adams in the 1700's, one of Scotland's most famous architects.

Balcarres

The home of the current Earl of Crawford.

Bannockburn Battlefield

In 1314, Robert the Bruce led the Scottish to one of Scotland's greatest victories over the English at the Battle of Bannockburn. Lindsays and Crawfords were involved in that epic struggle.

Craufurdland Castle

This castle was built in the 1200's and is the ancestral home of the Houison Crawfords.

Edzell Castle

The ancestral home of the Lindsays.

Glamis Castle

Dating from the 1400's, this is one of the most haunted castles in Scotland. Glamis may be best known as the setting for Shakespeare's MacBeth, but it is also the home of a Lindsay ghost.

Finhaven Castle

This castle, now in ruins, was the ancestral home of the Crawfords in the 1400's. The 4th Earl of Crawford, Earl Beardie, plays a role in another ghost story.

Stirling Castle

One of the most finely restored castles in Scotland. In 1585, Lord Crawford, King James II, and the Earl of Montrose shut themselves in Stirling Castle and remained there until receipt of a guarantee that no harm would come to them if they surrendered.
